SIGNED HANDWRITTEN LETTER Johns, W.E.. No illustrator listed. Stock no. 585176 W.E. Johns. 1950. Very good condition. A full-page letter, handwritten and SIGNED by W.E. Johns. The letter is in response to an invitation to join a literary organisation (unnamed). The invitation is declined with Johns giving his reasons for doing so. The letter reads in part "I fear that if I accepted your invitation it would only be a matter of time before I found myself in conflict with certain members of your Committee, who, unaware of the facts, regard my books with disfavour because they commit the sin of being popular".
