Starting in Guiana, and obtaining an aircraft in lieu of missing salary payments, the story follows the team's adventures as they take a roundabout route back to England. The adventures find them searching for Gold on the orinoco, rescuing a woman from Peruvian bandits, helping another escape from the law, searching for rare orchids, pearls, shipwrecks, etc. The journey takes them across the Pacific, to Australia, and then home across asia.
