Oxford University Press. 1st. 1941. Very good condition in an almost very good dustwrapper. Red cloth, black titles, vignettes of bi-plane to front cover and spine. Colour frontis. B/w illustrations. 249 pages plus one page biography and 5 page book list at rear. Covers bright and clean. Outer page edges foxed. Contents bright just the odd fox spot to prelims. Extremely rare pictorial wrapper is NOT price cut with the correct price of 4/- Net present, font to rear panel is brown with 15 Biggles titles listed from Biggles Sees it Through to Biggles Hits the Trail as called for for a first edition. The wrapper has some edge wear and scuff marks to front panel, rear panel a little grubby. Small area of loss to top of front panel next to spine, causing loss to the "B" of Biggles; also small chip to top of spine next to rear panel. Overall a lovely copy which would sit handsomely in most Biggles Collections. [R]
